Well...Hudson is sick, yet again. I am crossing my fingers that this weather will stay warm and this will be the last of it for a while. Towards the end of last week Hudson got a little cough with a stuffy nose, but I assumed it was allergies. It has been very windy here and everything is blooming! When I picked him up from daycare Friday he just didn't look good so I got him into the doctor. He has some type of virus/infection and an eye infection. So Friday night we started the trusty Z-pack and some eye drops. He has been running a pretty high fever all weekend. With Tylenol he felt pretty good (minus sounding like a smoker's cough) and all he wanted to do was go outside. After all that playing outside we went out to eat. I guess being sick plus the outdoor activity made him extra sleepy. This was on our way to pick up some food.
Last night his fever was still 102.5 so I kept him home today. We enjoyed staying in our pj's all day and resting in mom and dad's bed! He learned a new word over the weekend. His new word is "side" which means outside. This morning was very windy and cold and being that he was sick I didn't want to risk taking him out. This is what happens when he wants to go "side" and can't :(
While I was home from work I thought I would try and be productive while we were inside all day. This is the before of Hudson's shoe collection.
I know! It's HORRIBLE! He had quite the collection of shoes from his cousin Barrett. And none of them fit yet. Now that he is trying to walk I told a few people he needed shoes that fit. So my mom and step mom bought him precious shoes in smaller sizes, but they still don't fit. With all of these cute shoes I think I would try them on him every few weeks and then just throw them back in the closest in frustration that they were so cute but didn't fit!
And here is the after...
These are all of the shoes that still don't fit, but we are hoping they will soon!
And the ones that DO fit! Except for the boots, but there was no room on the other side!
This post is dedictated to my last "accidental" and random post. I am currently finishing up my Master's program and have to keep up with a blog for class. (One of my excuse for not blogging lately--it's not as fun to blog when you HAVE to!) So...I accidently posted my assignment to Hudson's blog instead of my school blog. So sorry to get some of your hopes up. The good news is in honor of that I'm posting "random" pictures :)

The weather has been CRAZY here! About 2 weeks ago we had a beautiful 70 degree weekend. Then just a day afterward we had a "Winter Blast". Out of the last ten days of school, we have only gone 5 and a half due to the ice and then snow and then more ice! So needless to say when we saw the sun shining with the temperature above freezing today, we were outside. We thought we would take Hudson to the park for some fun!

Things have been busy here at the Johns' household with a busy busy ONE-YEAR OLD! It is still crazy to me that he is already one. Here is what our one year old has been up to:
Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz
Height: I forgot to look on the sheet and Hudson got a hold of it, so it went in the trash. I will be sure to call and ask!
Eating: Hudson is completely on table foods now. He is continuing to be a very good eater and is not too picky. We have taken him off of his bottle, except for at night before he goes to bed. That's a hard one I'm not sure I'll be able to give up. It's been so nice being able to feed him whatever we are eating. His favorites now are: breakfast-eggs, oatmeal, or banana bread (homemade by Pa), lunch/dinner- mac and cheese with ham, ham and cheese sandwich, and venison stew (made by Pa too!), snack-strawberry/banana yogurt, peach/mango applesauce (he won't eat regular anymore--I don't blame him!), goldfish
Sleeping: He is still a wonderful sleeper too! He generally sleeps 10-12 hours each night. Most days he still takes a 2 hour morning nap and 1 hour afternoon nap.
Play/Tricks: He loves to play and show off all of his tricks. He can clap and play "patty cake". He can "clack" (I think that the right word) his tongue, and he can stick his tongue out at you! He is very much in the monkey see-monkey do stage. His favorite toy is any door. He loves to open and close doors all day long. He also likes taking all his shapes out of the bucket. His Great Aunt Karen got him a Scout for Christmas and he just giggles every time it says his name. He is starting to really understand everything going on. He is becoming even closer friends with Moose and Lola. Moose could care less about him and runs every chance he gets (I can't wait until Hudson can try and catch him!), but Lola is his companion. She will sit there and let him rub, pat, pull, and many more. He also learned to use his walker just today! He has been somewhat scared of it until now, but now he loves it!
Talking: The only word he still knows is "da", but you wouldn't believe how many things start with "da" in his world. He says the "da" with a different inflection and I swear he knows which one he means! There is a "da" for down, dog, drink, and done. Even though it doesn't start with d there is a certain "da" that means yes or maybe ya. He is trying his hardest to say "uh oh", but at this point it just sounds like meaningful grunting. Cody also witnessed him saying "hi dog", but he hasn't repeated it.
It's hard to believe it living in Texas, but it is already Hudson's second snow experience in less than a year of life! It has even snowed more than twice, but this was only his second time actually out in it. Here is a link from when it snowed when he was only 9 days old: First Snow I said in that post I didn't know if we would ever get that much snow again, but I think today may beat it.
He was MUCH more aware of this snow this go around at 11 months old. Yes, he is already 11 months and 5 days old. (11 month post coming soon..snow is more fun!)
Tasting the yummy snow on his own!
Things just aren't as cool when your mom suggests them. (even when your 11 months old)
Moose was jealous he wasn't getting to play in the snow. So we let him go at it, and he was happy when he made the blog too! It looks like we have about 3-4 inches of accumulation so far, and it is still coming down! We are under a "winter weather warning" until 9:00 am tomorrow, so no telling how much we will end up with.
