Hudson swinging
Hudson sliding with Dad
Things have been busy here at the Johns' household with a busy busy ONE-YEAR OLD! It is still crazy to me that he is already one. Here is what our one year old has been up to:
Weight: 18 lbs 13 oz
Height: I forgot to look on the sheet and Hudson got a hold of it, so it went in the trash. I will be sure to call and ask!
Eating: Hudson is completely on table foods now. He is continuing to be a very good eater and is not too picky. We have taken him off of his bottle, except for at night before he goes to bed. That's a hard one I'm not sure I'll be able to give up. It's been so nice being able to feed him whatever we are eating. His favorites now are: breakfast-eggs, oatmeal, or banana bread (homemade by Pa), lunch/dinner- mac and cheese with ham, ham and cheese sandwich, and venison stew (made by Pa too!), snack-strawberry/banana yogurt, peach/mango applesauce (he won't eat regular anymore--I don't blame him!), goldfish
Sleeping: He is still a wonderful sleeper too! He generally sleeps 10-12 hours each night. Most days he still takes a 2 hour morning nap and 1 hour afternoon nap.
Play/Tricks: He loves to play and show off all of his tricks. He can clap and play "patty cake". He can "clack" (I think that the right word) his tongue, and he can stick his tongue out at you! He is very much in the monkey see-monkey do stage. His favorite toy is any door. He loves to open and close doors all day long. He also likes taking all his shapes out of the bucket. His Great Aunt Karen got him a Scout for Christmas and he just giggles every time it says his name. He is starting to really understand everything going on. He is becoming even closer friends with Moose and Lola. Moose could care less about him and runs every chance he gets (I can't wait until Hudson can try and catch him!), but Lola is his companion. She will sit there and let him rub, pat, pull, and many more. He also learned to use his walker just today! He has been somewhat scared of it until now, but now he loves it!
Talking: The only word he still knows is "da", but you wouldn't believe how many things start with "da" in his world. He says the "da" with a different inflection and I swear he knows which one he means! There is a "da" for down, dog, drink, and done. Even though it doesn't start with d there is a certain "da" that means yes or maybe ya. He is trying his hardest to say "uh oh", but at this point it just sounds like meaningful grunting. Cody also witnessed him saying "hi dog", but he hasn't repeated it.
