More snow!?!

Yes you read that correctly! We have more snow here in McKinney!!! All last week was so beautiful...sunny and in the low 70's. Hudson and I took quite a few walks. Yesterday the weather took a change (for the worse in my opinion!) and we stayed in all day relaxing before I go back to work and Hudson starts daycare. Then this morning we woke up to SIX inches of snow! So we decided it will be another stay at home and relax day. Hudson is doing this better than we are!

He seems to be such a sleepy boy today! I think that is because of the event we had on Friday. Friday Hudson had his 2 month check-up (at 6 weeks since we're starting daycare) and he got 3 shots and one oral vaccine. Friday he seemed to be okay but yesterday was a different story. He seemed to be irritable all day. Pretty much NO naps...and he is a sleeper. So needless to say I think he is catching up today.

News from the Doctor visit...Hudson is now 8 pounds and 3 ounces. He is measuring 21 inches long. Here are some pictures where he looks like a big boy to me! (His "going home" pants finally fit)

We call this the "bump" picture. Ha ha! Remember the greeting when you bump fists? Hudson seems to like to put his hand in this position for pictures!

Other good news from the visit. Our doctor said that we can stop waking Hudson up to feed him in the middle of the night. We were having to wake him up every 5 hours. He slept so well he didn't even wake up to eat most nights! So Friday night was the first try...he went to sleep at 10:00pm and woke up at 5:15 am. Not too bad! Especially considering that's about when I will be waking up starting tomorrow. Then last night we went to bed later (remember we were irritable from those mean shots!) at about midnight and Hudson slept until 6:15 am this morning. So hopefully this trend will continue and we will be sleeping through the night when I start work this week.

First Haircut

This weekend my mom and Rog came in to visit us for my birthday (and to see Hudson I'm sure!) My mom was a hairdresser back in the day so I told her to bring her scissors with her because Hudson's hair was getting out of control! So at only 5 weeks and 3 days Hudson got his first haircut. I'm wondering if that's a record? We started the haircut with him asleep but after a few tugs of hair he was a bit wiggly. The hardest part was that he can't hold his head up yet because he's still so young. There was no crying though and overall he did a great job!

During the haircut

Hair we collected! (some fell on the floor)

And the after :) Handsome boy!!!

New look...Spring time!

I was looking for a new blog design and the dandelions just jumped out as spring to me! When I was younger I can remember searching for those to blow them away and make a wish.

A random picture to go with the new design. Spring is also a time for baseball season so Hudson is getting ready!

Side note--I can't seem to control his hair!!!

1 month (and a few days!)

Ok...I know I know! I have waited WAY to long to blog. It was one thing being pregnant but now it is a whole other can worms now that Hudson is here. I know there are no excuses but I have been working on our school yearbook (all done digitally) and I am taking an online class. So that amount of computer time has kind of been overloading to me and I have not wanted to be on the computer anymore than that. But the yearbook is due today (YAY!) so that will free up some time for fun computer time! And to those of you who are loyal readers I'm sorry and I PROMISE to never go that long without blogging again :) I will make this an extra good one!

On to the good stuff...

Hey guys! It's Hudson again. Can you believe that I am already a month old? Here are a few pictures from the day I turned one month old.

My mom and dad tell me that I am growing up quick! I weigh 7 lbs and 3.5 ounces now. I am still eating every 3-4 hours but now I am eating 3-4 ounces each time! I am still a very good sleeper. At night I usually sleep for 5 hours and I forget I'm even hungry so my mom has to wake me up to eat. I finally fit into most of my newborn clothes. I have grown out of everything preemie and still have some newborn clothes I will have to grow into. I have been very busy these last three weeks. Here are some pictures and videos of the things I've tried out.

I've had my first real bath! It was so much better than those sponge baths. Now I get to soak in the tub and stay warm.

I've tested out my big swing...

I've played on my activity mat...

I've had a ride on my little swing...

I've starting taking a daily multi-vitamin so I will grow healthy and strong!

Well that's about all I have been up to lately. I go for my 2 month appointment on Marh 19th. I know I will still be only 6 weeks then but my doctor recommended me go in early and get all my shots before I start daycare. I'm not looking forward to all those shots! Well, see you until next time! Here's mom...

I am posting these two pictures because I just think they are too sweet. I am going back to work in 2 weeks and can I tell you that I am not ready what so ever! Not that I don't love my job because I love the kids and the place where I work VERY much! But look at these pictures. Would you want to leave this precious face?

Let it snow...let it snow...let it snow!!!

We had a TON of snow here in McKinney on Thursday. We are guessing we got between 12-14 inches of snow. This broke all kinds of records for us here in Texas. Cody spent the morning in the backyard making us a snowman family. We bundled Hudson up and took a few pictures in the snow. He slept right through it!

Cody and "daddy" snowman

Me and "mommy" snowman

Hudson and "baby" snowman

That goes down as Hudson's first snow! I'm not sure if we will ever see that much snow again living here in McKinney.

I am one week old!

Hey guys! This is Hudson here :) I am one week old today. Do you like my tie? I thought I would dress up for the Super Bowl last Sunday. Things are going really well here at my new house. At my last check up (Monday) I weighed 5 pounds and 15 ounces and I am still 19.25 inches long. I am eating about every 3-4 hours. Now days when I eat I usually eat between 35-50 ml of yummy formula. I am kind of having wardrobe dilemmas! I am a little bit too long for preemie clothes but newborn clothes still swallow me. I will keep wearing the preemie clothes that fit me for now.

Things I don't really like so far: baths (even though I have cute towels!), changing clothes, and having my diaper changed. Pretty much anything that involves me having to take my clothes off. I have had two baths so far at home and they were not so fun. I am thinking that maybe when I get a little bit older I will like them more. When I am upset my pacifier usually makes me happy pretty quick!

Things I love: sleep, sleep, sleep! Here are some pictures of my favorite sleeping places so far. This is my glider that is oh so comfy.
Not only do I love sleeping but I am quite the cuddler. You can see that my Mommy are Daddy like taking naps now too now that I am here. I love cuddling with them and taking naps on the couch.
One of my favorite times is first thing in the morning. My Mommy or Daddy take me out of my bassinet and let me lay in their big bed for a few minutes. Sometimes we fall back asleep!
That is all for now...I will catch back up after my two week appointment next week. I can't wait! My parents found the perfect doctor for me and we all love her!
