4 months

It's Hudson here! Friday, June 4th I was 4 months old. I had my 4 month old check up and didn't have to get my shots. Instead I got a panda! (Not a real one guys!)

This is my new breathing machine. My doctor told my mom I have bronchiolitis (the reason I didn't get my shots) so I have to do breathing treatments for the next two weeks. It's not terrible though. My new breathing machine (the panda) has a pacifier attachment. So I can just suck on the pacifier while I get my treatment. Much better than having that mask strapped to me! Although I think mom still uses that when I get my treatments and I'm sleeping.

At my appointment my doctor told me I should start trying rice cereal in a spoon instead of in my bottle. That spoon is hard work! It's quite a mess now but I think I will eventually get the hang of it.

4 month old stats:
weight- 12 lbs 2 oz (6th percentile)
length- 24.5 inches (38th percentile)
eating- 5 bottles a day (6-8 oz per feeding); night bottle w/rice; trying to eat rice with a spoon!
diapers- size 2
clothes- mostly 3-6 months; shorts still 0-3 months
eyes- looking blue/green
favorite toy(s)- activity mat, rattle, crinkle elephant
tricks- smile, laugh, babble

Family Renunion (April)

Here are some pictures from our family reunion back in April. I know this is a little late to put them up but I want to keep this blog as our scrapbook so I wanted to make sure they got in! Also, if you read my mom's blog you've already seen them. I forgot to bring my camera so I had to steal her pictures!

First Memorial Day...sick :(

Well Hudson had his first "sickness" and we were at the lake! We woke up Saturday morning after a night of almost no sleep. So we started searching for a doctor in Gun Barrel City, TX on a weekend. The only luck we had was in the hospital ER so that's where we went. Hudson's first trip to the ER. (Although not really an "emergency") The doctor diagnosed him with early signs of bronchitis. No good! So we did a breathing treatment (which he did not enjoy whatsoever!) at the hospital and then took a steroid, liquid breathing treatment, and antibiotic for five days! (Glad that is over)

Even though Hudson was pretty sick it didn't seem to phase him too much. A few pictures of him enjoying his first Memorial Day weekend.
Talking with Dad about his weekend at the lake...

We have had quite a few very hot days here lately. This weekend the high is even 104! Today was a bit muggy but finally cooler so we decided to take an evening walk. Hudson is sitting like a big boy in his stroller now.

When I picked Hudson up from daycare today his teacher told me that he played in the excersaucer today! So we decided to try out his bouncer at home. So Cody got it down out of the attic and put it all together.

After all of that hard work I have no picture of Hudson in his own bouncer. Mainly because he was still way too small! Maybe in another month.

4 months old tomorrow! And a check up. Probably no shots though because he is still coughing quite a bit.

Firsts...

Well it has been a while since I have blogged! Hopefully this summer will lend itself to lots of time for blogging :) We have had plenty of "firsts" since the last entry.

Hudson's first tractor ride

Hudson has also had his first taste of rice cereal. May 9th Hudson stopped sleeping through the night. You may be thinking it's typical for a 3 month baby to not sleep through the night right? But not Hudson! He has slept through the night since 6 weeks old so by about May 12th when he was still waking up between 2 and 3 am for a bottle I knew something wasn't right. So I finally decided on May 13th to try putting some rice cereal in his bottle. First try eating that yummy stuff and he was sleeping through the night. And now ever since that night this is how our night ends...

(Notice his "big boy pjs")
A bath, bottle of formula mixed with cereal, and bed time! Such a happy boy :)

Other firsts
*April 2nd- first trip to the lake house
*April 23rd- first trip to Moon Ranch (where the first tractor ride happened!)
*May 8th- first weekend away from mom and dad (Thanks grandma and grandpa Johns for watching me) That's not really their name but we are still waiting on everyone to be named
*May 22nd- second time away from mom and dad (Thank grandma and grandpa Moon for watching me) Not really their name either!
*Sometime in May (didn't record date) Hudson learned to laugh! Still trying to catch it on camera. I swear he knows the video camera because everytime I try to catch him he immediately has the most serious look on his face!

Upcoming events!
*June 4th- 4 month check-up (already?) I will have plenty of "stat" updates for you then!
*June 10th- Papa Adkisson, grandma Adkisson, and Aunt Alexis come to visit. Aunt Alexis is staying with us for 2 weeks to have some fun in McKinney!
*June 21st- Great Memaw comes to visit

We have a busy summer ahead of us!

Although you can't tell from this sweet picture Hudson has become much more active lately. He's really interacting with people. He can even grab his toys and play with them now. Dr. Rylie will be so impressed next week. He can almost sit in his Bumbo by himself too. As soon as he can I'll try to catch a picture!

A Beautiful Weekend!

The work week ended with Hudson sleeping in his crib for the first time Thursday night. He looks so small in the crib right now! He slept well and has been sleeping from about 9 or 9:30 pm until 4 or 5 am. The monitor is up and working and he seems to be sleeping very well in his big boy crib.

The weekend was a relaxing and productive one around the house. We got some much needing cleaning, organizing, and laundry done. Hudson also enjoyed watching the Master's with his dad. You can see from the picture "like father, like son!" I think men are just born knowing how to work the remote control!

The weather was SO beautiful this weekend. Hudson took a break from golf and we went on a walk. I love being outside and Hudson seems to enjoy it as well so far. We try to go on walks anytime the weather is nice.

Enjoying a nap on the cold leather after our walk. It's almost 80 degrees here in McKinney today! I think we both came back at little hot.

Other news...Hudson has learned to smile! He even sounds like he's laughing sometimes. I have yet to catch a picture or video of this...and trust me I've been trying! I got called the paparazzi today. As soon as I get one I will be so excited to share!

Happy Easter!

You will be able to tell from this post that Cody was out of town hunting this weekend and I went a little picture crazy! The many Easter looks of Mr. Hudson...

That's almost a smile :)

So handsome Easter

Festive Easter

Hip Easter

Little boy Easter (first comb over pic!)

Aunt Karen came to visit for Easter.
Her first time to meet and hold Hudson.

We went to Rockwall to visit my
cousin Kim and her son Barrett. Here is
Kim holding Hudson for the first time.

We thought we could get a sweet picture
of Hudson (2 months) and Barrett (almost 1 year)
Here are our attempts...

Barrett wasn't quite sure if he liked having a little baby around...

We settled on a group picture with Aunt Kim!
Happy Easter to everyone! We love you!

I've been a busy boy!

Hey everyone! It's Hudson here. I have had quite a busy week or so. A few things I have been up to:

-My first trip to the lake (no boating yet!) but my bathing suits are waiting
-My first full week of daycare...I love my teachers and they all tell my mom how I am such a good baby! I eat well and sleep well for them there.
-My first time to sleep through the night consecutively (4 nights in a row now!) I'm in bed by 9 or 9:30 and I usually wake up between 5 and 6
-My first time visiting my mom's school...All of her students thought that I was so cute :) They loved my faux hawk too.

Coming soon...my first Easter! I will be visiting my Aunt Kim (really some type of cousin?), my cousin Barrett, and my Aunt Karen. It will be their first time to see me and I can't wait for their kisses. I will share pictures in a few days. Until then here are a few while you wait...
